Tahfiz "Miqim" Habib
Certified System Administrator, in progress

Hi, I am Tahfiz "Miqim" Habib, and I explore the inner workings of software, systems, and networks to understand how they function and how they can be improved. I don't focus on titles or skills alone; I am driven by curiosity and a desire to understand and enhance the tools and systems I interact with, whether it is an operating system, a program, or an object I use every day.

While I often write about compilers, distributed systems, and developer tools, this space is also a place to reflect on the world around me. It is a collection of observations, ideas, and insights that help me make sense of complex systems and the challenges we face. Writing allows me to capture patterns, document discoveries, and think critically about technology and society. Even when my perspective is cautious or critical, I believe in human agency and the possibility of positive change.

My main areas of study are operating systems, penetration testing, and networking. I work primarily with GNU/Linux systems, and I have been an Arch Linux user for years because it provides transparency, control, and a deep understanding of how systems operate. I also have a strong interest in programming, enjoying the process of building software, experimenting with code, and solving problems efficiently.

I am a strong supporter of Free and Open Source Software, as being able to read and understand source code is essential for learning, trust, and improvement. I enjoy exploring systems from the ground up, analyzing their design, identifying weaknesses, and finding ways to make them more secure, efficient, and reliable.
